Embroidered Touch is a new kind of sensory textile that stimulates your senses with captivating sound and visual animation in concert with your smartphone or tablet. Our sensory textiles and wearable technologies produce an audio and visual output when you touch them.
This touch-sensitive textile encourages you to connect with your body, others and the surrounding soundscape, fostering comfort and a sense of connection while playing the sensory surface to evoke sounds and moving images.
With an array of pre-recorded sound palettes, you can instantly immerse yourself in a personalized experience as you play the touch-sensitive embroidery, creating a unique soundscape in real time with each touch. Simultaneously, corresponding moving imagery will appear on your device’s screen, as you swirl your hands on the Embroidered Touch surface. Each textile comes with the Embroidered Touch app.
The embroidered designs are inspired by the concept of inclusivity, promoting a sense of delight and well-being.

About the founder
Anke Loh
A fashion designer by training, Anke Loh has worked at the nexus of art, technology and fashion for more than 15 years.
With a focus on textile development and wearable technology, her practice explores ways to support people with disabilities, those recovering from disease, and people who are socially isolated or marginalized. Her collaborative approach often convenes scientists, designers, artists, and community members.
